How to create a set of buttons starting from an existing button image
Although 3D Button Visual Editor can create a lot of different 3D button types, it's out of its scope creating buttons with very sophisticated surface rendering like the one on the button below:
usually creating this kind of buttons will require an expensive and/or hard-to-use graphic program or, in some case, hiring a graphic expert that will make its development on your behalf; sometime, browsing the Internet, you will find sets of free buttons that could be used for your purposes but, as you can see on the image above, what is currently missing on the button is a caption text: 3D Button Visual Editor can help you adding a customizable caption text to these buttons (we will call them "Custom buttons" from now on) in a few steps:
Open 3D Button Visual Editor
Select the Surface Tab and set the Transparent Factor field to 255
Select the Colors Tab and, if needed, select the Container background radio button and click the Change button: from the appearing colors palette, select the same background color used for your web pages (in our example we have used a yellow background).
Select the Pictures tab, select the Picture for normal state radio button and press the browse button and select the image of our Custom button that should be stored somewhere in your hard disk (note that if you plan to create a rollover effect, you will have to provide different pictures for the other needed states (Mouse over and/or Pressed))
Once the Custom button picture will be loaded, you will have to resize the button under editing accordingly, using the provided resize handles: this will keep the final image smaller in size.
Select the Texts Tab and apply the preferred text settings
You can now save the modified 3D button
At this point you have more than one option to create set of buttons all with the same 3D rendering but with a different caption text:
You can store the current settings into an Extended template for later use: see the How to manage button templates tutorial for details about button templates.
