On June 18, 2008 we have released new sound editing related controls for both ActiveX and .NET
A summary of the available features:
- Load from a file, from a memory buffer or from the system Clipboard the most diffused sound formats like MP3, WAV, AIFF, OGG Vorbis, MP4 (audio frames only), AAC, M4A, AC3, FLAC, WavPack, ALAC and CD tracks. The most diffused MOD formats are managed also and, if the Microsoft Windows Media Player components are installed on the target PC, this component can open WMA files and audio frames of ASF and WMV files. If a certain ACM (Audio Compression Manager) codec has been installed inside the target PC, this component can open other compressed formats like ADPCM, GSM 6.10, Speex and so on.
- Load a sound previously recorded by our Audio Sound Recorder for .NET component.
- Possibility to load a new sound in "Append mode", "Insert mode", "Mix mode" or "Overwrite mode"
- Possibility to load a specific range of a sound file
- A background sound can be applied to the current editing session, also in loop mode
- Deep analysis at different resolutions of the loaded sound's waveform with rich visualisation capabilities like range selection, zooming and panning
- Edit loaded sound with cut, insert and mixing capabilities.
- Insert or remove portions of silence
- Create and apply equalizer bands
- Apply volume modifications: flat volume, sliding volume and volume automation.
- Apply DirectX Media Object (DMO) effects.
- Apply custom DSP effects: code of custom DSP effects can be internal to the container application's code or inside external DLLs
- Apply Virtual Studio Technology (VST) effects
- Change Tempo, Playback rate and Pitch
- Play the loaded and edited sound or any portion of it: if you should need more sophisticated playback features, like visual feedbacks during playback, consider using this component in conjunction with our Audio DJ Studio for .NET component.
- Exporting in WAV, AIFF, AU, W64, PAF, SVX, NIST, VOC, IRCAM, PVF, CAF, FLAC, RAW formats
- Exporting in MP3 format through the external Lame.exe encoder
- Exporting in WMA format through the external Windows Media Audio modules
- Exporting in OGG Vorbis format through the external OggEnc.exe encoder
- Exporting in AAC and MP4 formats through the external Faac.exe encoder
- Exporting through installed Windows ACM codecs (Audio Compression Manager)
- Support for instancing the ActiveX version inside a web page

On June 18, 2008 we have released a new major version our sound playback related controls for both ActiveX (v4.0) and .NET (v3.0)
A summary of the many new available features:
- Reverse playback
- Support for Karaoke MPX files
- Availability of spectrum bands values for custom graphics
- Pre-amplification (as seen in WinAmp)
- Improved support for creating custom equalizers with more than 50 bands
- Automatic equalization for each file loaded through custom XML equalization files
- Horizontal and vertical graphic bars for custom rendering of VU-Meter, spectrum and progress bars
- Video playback through DirectShow with support for audio effects on the audio track of video clips
- Support for Custom DSP (Digital Signal Processing) effects: code of custom DSP effects can be internal to the container application's code or inside external DLLs
- Support for VST effects
- Sound card availability is no more required for performing waveform analysis
- Various settings (volume, pitch, tempo, etc.) can now be set without the need to load a sound
- Added support for background pictures on visual feedbacks
- Beats detection
- Support for WPL playlists
- Support for Internet streams in M3U, PLS and ASX formats
- More control on the loading of long playlists through dedicated events for start, percentage and stop detection
- Possibility to load a single playlist into a fader object (previous versions required that each involved player had an already loaded playlist)
- Possibility to load a playlist file or the whole content of a directory into a loaded playlist
- Improved triggers management
- Cue points management, also through external XML files which can be loaded automatically for each loaded song
- Support for delayed playback: a song is loaded and scheduled for playback after a defined time-slice
- Support for lyrics synchronization through LRC files
- Support for new sound formats: W64, AU, PAF, SVX, NIST, VOC, IRCAM, PVF and CAF
- Support for RAW formats (PCM and Dialogic VOX)
- Support for saving into a file peaks obtained from an analysis of the sound’s waveform
- Improved support for instancing the ActiveX version inside a web page allowing to display waveform's graphics and visual feedbacks

A summary of the many new available features:
- Improved loading speed
- More object oriented programming interface
- Recording in overwrite mode
- No more need of a sound card for recording from files, memory buffers or from an Internet URL
- New graphical features for the waveform analyzer like the possibility to add vertical lines or a background picture
- Mouse events generated when clicking the waveform analyzer
- Visual feedbacks take their settings before starting a recording session
- Added support for background pictures on visual feedbacks
- Support for Custom DSP (Digital Signal Processing) effects: code of custom DSP effects can be internal to the container application's code or inside external DLLs
- Possibility to reset the control and the multimedia engine in order to enumerate “hot-plugged” USB sound cards
- Added support for encoding recording sessions in the following formats: AIFF, AU, PAF, SVX, NIST, IRCAM, VOC, W64, PVF, CAF, FLAC, RAW (PCM and Dialogic VOX)
- Support for automatic saving of sound chunks, of predefined duration, during a recording session in WAV format
- Support for switching the output file without stopping a recording session
- Support for limiting recording duration to a specific amount of time
- Improved support for instancing the ActiveX version inside a web page allowing to display waveform's graphics and the visual feedbacks
