ActiveX and .NET components now supporting natively 64 bits
versions of Windows (x64)
==================================================

Starting from version 2005, Microsoft Visual Studio allows compiling applications specifically for "x64" (when using C++) or for "Any CPU" (when using C# or VB.NET): after a few months of hard work, all of our ActiveX and .NET components come with native support for 64 bits versions of Windows as well, meaning that container applications can now be compiled for "Any CPU" or specifically for x64 and that they can take full advantage of 64 bits architecture: better performance with larger available memory allocation.

As usual we have managed to keep 100% backward compatibility so, in order to take advantage of new x64-ready version of our components, there will be no need to change your existing code: a simple recompilation of your application and a repackaging of your setup/installer will be enough.

Differently from many vendors of software components, we have decided to include x64 versions of our components inside the existing x86 developer license, meaning that there will be no need to purchase a separate license for x64 versions.

If you already own the latest major version of our components (see the list below), simply uninstall the current version and download and install the latest setup package using link/username/password combination provided when the product was purchased.

List of versions that don't require purchasing a new license:
- 3D Active Button Magic 9.x
- Active DJ Studio 5.x
- Active Sound Recorder 4.x
- Active Sound Editor 2.x
- Active Sound Studio 2010
- Active Sound Suite 2010

- 3D Control Magic for .NET 3.x
- Audio DJ Studio for .NET 4.x
- Audio Sound Recorder for .NET 4.x
- Audio Sound Editor for .NET 2.x
- Audio Sound Studio for .NET 2010
- Audio Sound Suite for .NET 2010

After upgrading, take a look into the documentation section named "Files to be included with your application" which contains important topics about redistribution of this new version.

If you should be a customer of a previous version of one or more of our components, simply drop a note to our sales department and ask how to upgrade: a discount will be obviously available.

======================================================
.NET components now compatible with Visual Studio 2010
======================================================

All of our .NET components were originally developed using Visual Studio 2003 and .NET framework 1.1: when versions 2005 and 2008 of Visual Studio were released, we didn't had any compatibility issue so we maintained .NET framework 1.1 as a base for our developments.

When Visual Studio 2010 was released, we discovered that Microsoft took the decision to break compatibility with the past, causing our components developed with .NET framework 1.1 to become incompatible with this latest development environment: for this reason we had the need to port our components to Visual Studio 2010 and .NET framework 2.0: now all of our .NET components are compatible with Visual Studio 2005, 2008 and 2010 but, obviously, being compiled for .NET framework 2.0, they cannot be used directly inside Visual Studio 2003.

That said, in case you should have this specific need, we still have a build specific for Visual Studio 2003 so, in case you should be interested in upgrading to one of the latest versions of our .NET components and you should be forced using Visual Studio 2003, simply drop a note to our sales department and we will send you a separate setup package.
